To post your e-show to a Web site using FTP
- From the File menu, choose Publish to Web.
The Publish to Web wizard begins.
- In step 1, select To any other kind of server or a shared file folder; then click Next.
- In step 2, select a connection speed for your e-show; then click Next. For more information on
connection speeds, see Choosing a connection speed.
- In step 3, select how the e-show will be accessed by your audience; then click Next. You have
three options:
- Just a Web server (
http://
)
- A Web server and a RealServer (
http://
but the media is streamed by a RealServer)
- A hard disk or local area network connection (
\\ServerName
)
- In step 4, select Via FTP; then in the Copy slides to this FTP site box,
type the fully qualified ftp location into which Alive e-Show should publish your e-show.
The fully qualified ftp location must include the ftp://
protocol.
For example, ftp://servername/publicationfolder
.
Warning Do not type the root folder of your FTP site into the Copy slides to this FTP site box because you may
overwrite important files stored at this location.
- If you are publishing the e-show to a Web server, use the URL to the Web folder showing the
e-show to type the address that viewers will use to access your e-show.
- Click Finish to publish your e-show.
After clicking Finish, your e-show will be copied to the specified folder on the ftp site. When finished, Alive e-Show will display the Publication Complete dialog box. You can use this dialog box to view your e-show, copy the URL to the e-show, and delete any media files you may have recorded.
Note
- If you are running a RealServer, you must copy the files to the RealServer folder by hand.
